What to Expect

We are service-oriented. During application season, we are often in the office by 4am and remain in the office until midnight. We have stayed up around the clock to help students.

Please note, we do not have a capped limit of students we take. Many counselors in the area have limited availability, but we will always find a way to make time for students, even during application season. Dr. Winston works on weekends, evenings, and holidays – sometimes for 20-hour work days – in order to help students!

We offer comprehensive college planning or a la carte choices. We can create individualized checklists tailored to your needs, including questions to ask admissions personnel.

We frequently speak in high schools and organizations both nationally and internationally. We are experienced and dedicated.

Hourly Consulting

We can meet you for appointments: in our office, via video call, or asynchronously through email. We have a virtual system that allows us to see you, share screens, and edit together.

We charge $250/hour or 350 for two-hour in-person or virtual sessions.

For asynchronous research, editing, and other work, we charge $250/hour. Discounts are available for groups of hours, portfolio packages, and publishing your books. Our rates remain the same, regardless of whether you are pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies.

Non-binding

We do not bind you to a complex agreement. Many of our clients pay each time, though we offer a discount for students/families who pay in advance. You may cancel at any time. If you paid in advance, you may stop and only pay for the hours you used.

Surprisingly, many families come to us AFTER they have bought into a binding contract elsewhere with counselors that did not help. This is sad, but this does not happen with us. We must perform or you will not continue to come. This is why we do not focus on strapping you to a big package from which you cannot escape. You return for additional sessions because we offer value.

Other than the free seminars, I do not offer free sessions. I help students around the clock, publish educational books, and I am an ongoing graduate student – so I kindly ask that you respect my policy of no free sessions beyond the seminars. If you are looking for free, personalized assistance, there may be new college counselors in the area that are looking for clients.

Cancellation policy

Please note that I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Therefore, no matter what the reason, if you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, you must still pay for the session. This is because your appointment time could have been taken by another student who needs help.
